How To Practice Your Love Languages On Yourself

Hey Blossoms! You need to start being intentional and actionable about how you love and treat yourself. It will make ALL the difference okay! You don’t need to wait for someone else to offer you the love you want and deserve. All of that can can come from within.

Words of Affirmation

You need to get used to saying nice things to yourself! Saying things to yourself along the lines of “I am proud of you”, “You are beautiful”, “You are doing your best”, “You did a great job”, “You are worth it”. Appreciate yourself and who you are. You are enough. No more self deprecation, even when joking. Your mind and soul does not know the difference.

Quality Time

You need well deserved alone time to recharge your soul and mind. Take yourself out on the town, for brunch, lunch or dinner. Maybe schedule that mani-pedi or even a full spa day to get those tired muscles relaxed. You can start working on a vision board, or even snuggle up and start reading your favorite book. Partake in some of your hobbies like arts and crafts. Personally, I love writing in my affirmation journal, it helps me keep clear about what I want.

Also I love to workout, and practice some yoga or meditate! There is something so personal about getting in the zone and tuning everything and everyone else out. Especially if you can get in a good sweat, which your body in turn will release endorphins.

Gifts

Treat yo self! If there is something you want then buy it for yourself. You deserve it after all. You work hard and are becoming better each day. New skin care, makeup, haircare or perfume or some new clothes. The items don’t have to be materialistic either! You can purchase an online course and invest in yourself that way. Maybe a pottery or art class if you are into doing crafts.

Acts of Service

Do something nice for yourself! This can be cleaning up your desk, room, or closet. You can also organize your day using a planner to build habits. In addition to this, you can also put yourself on a schedule so your time is not spread too thin.  Or you can attend therapy to work on your mind and soul a little deeper. All of these things can make your life a little easier.

Physical Touch

Take time to love your body. This can be adding a new scrub into your shower routine, or trying a new body wash with soothing properties. You can make sure you moisturize your skin with body butter or oil everyday out the shower. Another thing is to rub the muscles on your shoulders, massage your scalp, and sides of your neck. By doing this you will be releasing tension and giving your body better movement and flow.

Remember, to be our best selves our mental needs to be right first and foremost. Then we can get to working on our physical. Our mind is such a powerful thing. Whether we think we can or can’t do something makes all of the difference. We must be kind to ourselves, and love ourselves. There is only one you, you are unique, and special. Start treating yourself that way.
